Motion City Soundtrack will release a new single titled “True Romance” on April 13th. Their new album will be released in June via Epitaph Records.

Excerpt from “101”
On Brighton Beach, wearing a black suit, Michael wipes the blowing sand off his eyes, as he pulls himself up to his feet. He brushes the remaining sand off his suit and looks around at the beach. He looks out at the waves crashing down on the shoreline, confused as to what just happened he keeps squinting his eyes and begins to look around. While he is looking around he notices someone in the distance; someone he hasn’t seen in years, his old High School girlfriend Niki Preston. Niki is sitting on a blanket on the beach reading a magazine; he licks her finger to moisten it up and turns to the next page. Next to Niki sits a man pouring lotion onto his hands he closes the lid on the bottle and begins to rub his hands together and begins to apply it to Niki’s back. As Michael moves closer to the pair sitting on the beach the man comes more and more into focus, Michael looks at the long haired man next to Niki, he comes closer and closer till eventually he comes completely into focus. The man turns out to be Michael. Niki and the Other Michael pay no attention to the man gazing at them with a confused look on his face. Then from the background a voice comes, familiar to Michael. “No, no, no. That’s not acceptable. The shipment was supposed to arrive today, not tomorrow or the next day, Today!” Michael turns his back to the couple sitting in front of him and follows the sound of that familiar voice. “I don’t care about your apologizes. What is that going to do for me? Now I have customers waiting for merchandise that they need that I cannot supply to them” Michael continues to follow the familiar voice to another side of the beach. The voice begins to sound louder and louder as he makes his way to the source. Then out in the distance he notices another couple sitting on the beach out of focus. As he makes his was closer and closer a very attractive woman appears on the beach. She’s lying on the beach wearing a two-piece bathing suit soaking in the sun. A man circles around her on the cell phone. “What am I supposed to do, I’m sitting here with my thumb up my ass”. Says the man on the phone. Michael continues to make his way closer and closer until he realizes the woman is another one of his ex girlfriends that he dated from college till about a year after they graduated. Michael looks over at the man on the phone and realizes that it’s him on the phone. At the point Michael begins to look around and notices two more girls that he’s dated seriously and himself with them performing the acts that drove the women away from him. Behind Michael a man approaches, wearing a similar black suit, the man places his hands on Michael shoulder. “Beautiful isn’t” says the man as he takes a drag from his cigarette and continues; “Come on we don’t have much time, actually we have nothing but time” continues the man
Take On Water
On a sail boat i am slowly floating nowhere, lost the memories of where i am and why. Black oceans turning a million stars are burning, planteriums were right about the sky, oh once upon a day i sail off on a journey wishing on the wind to take me far from home, now i’m on the waves and i’m taking on water hard to see i won’t always be alone.
There was a time when all this sun was high and settled on me, but it dimmed behind my back and settled on, i used to square up with a man, used to size it in my head but it fell behind the line the meets the sky, oh once upon a day i sailed off on a journey wishing on the way to take me far from home now i’m on the waves and i’m taking on water, hard to see i won’t always be alone.
Inside this storm whipping in the wind, my sail is torn in other words the winds i made are not my own.

Shadow Days
Did you know you that you could be wrong and swear you’re right?, some people been known to do it all their lives. Did you find yourself alone just like you found yourself before. Like I found myself in pieces on my hotel floor. Hard times help me see, I’m a good man with a good heart, had a tough time got a rough start but I finally learned to let it go. Now I’m right here and I’m right now and I’m okay knowing some how my shadow days are over, my shadow days are over now.
Well I’m not some trouble maker, and I never meant her harm, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t make it hard to carry on. Well it sucks to be honest and it hurts to be real, but it’s nice to make some love that I can finally feel. Hard times let me be. I’m a good man, with a good heart got a tough time got a rough start but I finally learned to let get it go. Now I’m right here and I right now and I’m okay knowing some how my shadow days are over, my shadows days are over now.
